# 3. Process Models

This intermediate provides a visualization for the resulting process instance models after the process discovery phase (
see [Process Discovery Configuration](2_PM_Config.md)).

> **_NOTE:_** There may exist a lot of small process models with only a few activities.
> This is due to the fact that the related (social) document was not part of a collaboration scenario und thus only one
> or a few traces are used to create the process model.

The user has the ability to explore each process model through simple zoom and mouse navigation controls.

The process models are then used as input for the following step: [Pattern Detection](4_Frequent_Subgraph_Mining.md)
